Hanson Galleries in Uptown Park October 2008

I am thrilled to be able to tell you that I was in a
show at Hanson Galleries in Uptown Park during
October 2008. This venue was on my wish list of
places that I aspire to show my work in. Through the
Houston Metal Arts Guild I was invited to submit 5
pieces for the show "Language of Color". All 5 pieces
were accepted and were showing in the gallery. I'm
sorry to say nothing was sold, but I am still very
happy to have been included. The show had some
trouble getting started due to delays from Hurricane
Ike, but eventually found it's mark and was up and
running. My future plans are to approach this venue
as a permanent display for my work.

Houston Christian High School Fall 2008

I recently was a vendor at the Amazing Grace Fine Art
Sale at the Houston Christian High School on October
25. It was a fun show and I got to see many of my
fellow artist friends. There was a tiny snaffu with
me not having the correct number of tables reserved.
This was actually laughable after I had spent hours
laying it out at home to make sure I knew just what I
wanted to do for that just right look. So much for
planning ahead, in the first 5 minutes I had to
scratch everything I had planned. The sponsors
accommodated me with a small extra table and It all
worked itself out.
The art displayed at this show is fantastic and really top notch. You can see fine art, wood turning, jewelry, sculpture, and pottery. The children from the school performed, sang and danced or us during the event. They also displayed some of their own art work. It was well attended and my sales were up from last year. Earrings were my best seller this year. There is nothing better than having wonderful sponsors who take very good care of us vendors. We all know it is a lot of work and effort to put one of the these shows on and it's good to see the work being appreciated. I definitely will do the show again.
